The National Institute for Residential Resources and Training was created by a team of people with years of commitment and experience working in residential and other front line fields of mental illness and developmental disabilities.

Frustrated by their attempts to locate training geared to the notion of the practical and the hands on working with consumers, the Founders of NIRRT pooled over 100 years of experience in the field. Working in consort with a Psychologist, an Attorney, and a Registered Nurse, courses were created and training guides and manuals were written. A Train The Trainer series was created.

Even so, years passed while audiences were tested and cutting edge training materials fine-tuned. Finally ready to train the Human Services Community, NIRRT makes the following promise:

After much consideration we have decided to change our focus a bit and take our trainings "on the road". Rather than offering trainings at our home office in St. Paul, we will now be more available to bring our trainings and resources directly to you! For those of you who have attended NIRRT trainings in the past, we thank you and hope that you will consider bringing one of our trainers to your site.
